LAS VEGAS (AP) — A union representing hospitality workers says it has reached a tentative agreement with six more hotel-casinos in downtown Las Vegas and called off a strike deadline for another. The agreements averted a Monday morning walkout threat at several near-Strip and downtown properties as the city kicks off Super Bowl week. The culinary and an associated bartenders union are being given more time to reach an agreement with Virgin Las Vegas, an off-Strip resort. The union then turned its attention to winning the same contract terms for workers at other hotel-casinos in Las Vegas. The NFL’s 58th championship game is expected to bring some 330,000 people to Las Vegas this week, according to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — If Taylor Swift is jetting from her upcoming Tokyo concert to Las Vegas to see boyfriend Travis Kelce play in the Super Bowl the next day, she'd better already have a place to park her plane. “Oh, they’re full,” said Rick Breitenfeldt, FAA spokesman for his sixth Super Bowl. Commercial airlines have added flights and the Las Vegas airport reported Wednesday it handled a record 57.6 million passengers in 2023. Due to time zone differences, if she flies out at midnight, it will be 7 a.m. Saturday in Las Vegas. Hayes said aircraft parking fees during Super Bowl weekend at Harry Reid International were unchanged from the standard rate.

Microsoft 's hacking disclosure could be a challenge for its $20 billion-a-year cybersecurity franchise but bullish news for fellow portfolio name and rival Palo Alto Networks. Microsoft stock was trading modestly lower Monday but has climbed more than 5% since the start of 2024 following last year's 56% gains. Microsoft's cybersecurity incident doesn't leave us any less bullish on the mega-cap name. While its cybersecurity business pulls in about $20 billion in annual sales, Microsoft's revenue jumped 7% in 2023 to nearly $212 billion. The Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) new disclosure rules around cybersecurity attacks could be another catalyst for Palo Alto, Jim added.

REUTERS/Bridget Bennett/File Photo Acquire Licensing RightsSAN FRANCISCO, Nov 16 (Reuters) - The FBI warned organizations to guard against the Scattered Spider hacking group, which has breached dozens of American organizations over the past year, stealing their sensitive data for extortion. The statement, issued jointly with the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, sheds new light into how these hackers operate. The FBI and CISA urged critical infrastructure organisations to implement a series of security measures they recommended and urged victim organisations to share information about the hacks with the agencies. Everything from a sample ransom note, communications with the hackers, their cryptocurrency wallet information, or samples of malicious files could be useful, they said. "FBI and CISA do not encourage paying ransom as payment does not guarantee victim files will be recovered," they said, adding that ransom payments may embolden the hackers into going after more targets.

Some have been collecting evidence leading to the hackers' identities and are assisting law enforcement, according to the five insiders.
